  Our 2 year old King Charles Cavalier is in urgent need of a front end walking frame on wheels to support him and get him mobile, he lost one front leg when he was 6 months old when he irreparably shattered the bones in his shoulder/elbow simply running up a set of stairs. Due to a birth defect he had a weakness in the joint that we were totally unaware of until the accident. His other front leg also has the same defect (incomplete ossification) he is now 2 years old and unable to walk, x-rays this week revealed separation and a fracture like split in the joint; he is unable to weight bare on it at all the past few weeks. If there is anyone out there who knows of a company that makes these (most companies we have made enquiries with only do wheelchairs for the back legs) or someone who is handy and might be able to custom make something for Hugo we would be forever grateful

I'm wondering if anyone in the LA area might have a wheelchair device for a very big dog that they no longer need and want to sell or that they might loan out for us to try. My girlfriend and her family have a sweet 13 year old basset hound who recently took a bit of a bad turn medically. Short version is he no longer has use of his back legs and it's unclear at this point if he'll regain it. He has some back problems and while the vet has prescribed meds and has him doing acupuncture which has greatly improved the situation (he's no longer in pain and some strength has returned to his back legs), he still can't walk. Since his front legs are fine they're exploring the option of possibly getting him a wheelchair so he can get around on his own and go out to use the bathroom. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to start with this or where to buy one? Or maybe someone here has an old one they'd be willing to sell? Any help at all would be appreciated.

There are many qualified rehab people in that group and they can point you in the right direction.

  You might write to AbleDogs@yahoogroups.com There are a lot of Doxies in them at group and may be able to help. Eddieswheels.com are hand made top of the line carts. They do have recycles for sale. http://therollingdogproject.com is something you might look in to. I believe there is a waiting list. Made from PVC pipe seems to work well for smaller dogs. He makes them for free Dux Benny our admin is very involved with them. 💕 I hope you can find what you need.

  Well we didn't have the best news today, Russel told us that he thinks willow was born with spina bifida which means that any operations would be pointless, now we have to monitor willow so we can see if there's anything we can do to improve her life but now we're in the next step to find someone who can make her a specially fitted jacket and wheels, don't know how much it will cost but have been told that it's expensive, gutted but trying to stay positive x
