Liberty Honda is Hartford is amazing! That's where my dad got his Honda Civic and it's still running with 190K on it. ( I drive it now ). My father said Lia Honda in Enfield will not negotiate at all but Liberty Honda will and they are a lot nicer!
Philip A. replied:
Lia Honda does negotiate on used vehicles, it just depends on the vehicle. Most vehicles listed online are listed as aggressively as possible for the simple fact of competition, and if you are not the lowest online then people wont visit your store (just like any other product). Some stores like Manchester are 1 price only stores where the price is the price and that's it. Some people like that, some don't.
Some cars are listed below what dealers own them for- perhaps the car has not gotten any action in over a month and the dealer simply wants to move it out. In that scenario perhaps they wont negotiate any further because maybe they have reduced the price every week in an attempt to just sell it and have it listed at rock bottom. Most of our used vehicles are listed online below book/market value anyway.
Lets say 2 dealers had the exact same vehicle- Dealer A has the car online for $12,999 which has a current book value of $14k and they only saved you $500- vs Dealer B which had that very same vehicle (same book value) but listed online for $14k but they saved you $1500. Who do you think had the better deal?
