  Gym recommendations? I’m looking for a gym that’s class based (cycling, boot camp, cross fit.. etc). I did CrossFit for years before I moved to KCMO but moved here to go to medical school at KUMC. So, money is fairly tight since I’m no longer working. I’m looking for a gym that is fairly priced. Most of what I see is ~4 classes/month for $50-$75 which is steep in my opinion. If anyone has any recommendations for a gym please please let me know! I’ve been looking for a gym for months now!

  [City Gym](http://www.citygymkc.com) in Waldo is great. They’ve taken the pandemic seriously and have instituted rigorous controls to protect both staff and gym members. They’ve restarted small inside classes and have some outside classes as well.

  The genesis on ward parkway is 50 dollars a month with a 100 dollar initial fee (if I remember right). When I signed up the initial fee pamphlet says 250 but I'm sure they drop it down to 100 for everyone to make it seem like you get a deal. Worst part of the gym for me is it always feels humid. Lack of ventilation or something, makes you feel like you're in an aura of sweat constantly. Other gyms I have gone to usually have had fans or AC cranked up. Everything feels dirty because the machines seem like they're barely ever wiped down by occupants and I've never seen an employee clean them. But it's only a couple blocks from where I live so I joined them. Machines seem to stay broke for a while and the sauna went down for weeks. City gym is great and it's about the same price.

  Id recommend Prairie Life Fitness it's in OP but only 10 min from Waldo. City Gym KC is decent but can become very crowded and packed, in my opinion, the gym has too many members for its size. Brookside Crossfit is a great gym with great classes. Cory is great, you will enjoy Brookside CrossFit. Id stay away from Genesis.

  We just joined City Gym on Wornall. It's a great facility with lots of classes.
