I'd like to buy a gift card to a restaurant, ~$100-$250 range, to give to my mom. They have far from picky or fancy, but I'd like a more upscale place that is not too esoteric (think Italian/French/American versus Ethopian, not that I don't like that!). Ideally it would have good but not stuffy service and provide space and comfort (e.g., no community dining tables). Alcohol options do not matter much.   I would go with [Paley's Place](http://www.paleysplace.net/) or [Higgins](http://higginsportland.com/menu.html) (both Portland classics). You will need to call them as they do not have gift-cards (to my knowledge) but they are rather accommodating and are willing to work with you.
