About us
Welcome to my Facebook gallery. For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about photography. I love nothing more than leaving the house at 4am and heading to some distant landscape with a view to capturing an awesome sunrise during golden hour and then staying out shooting all day until night falls and trying to capture an incredible sunset.
Sometimes its very successful, as you will see from these pages, but other times its just frustrating and I just spend 12hrs getting cold, wet and downhearted with the weather, but that comes with the British climate and makes the great captures all the more satisfying.
My equipment centers around the incredible Canon 5D MK3 Body which is a fantastic camera by any standard and with a resolution of 22mp allows me to create very large prints with no loss of detail, and I have the amazing 18mp Canon EOS 7D as my backup... just in case!
As any good photographer will tell you though, the image is actually formed by the lens and no matter how good the body is, the lens dictates the ultimate image quality first and foremost. For landscapes I use either the Canon 16-35 f/4 IS L series lens or the Canon 50mm f/1.8. For other images requiring a little more reach I usually have the incredible Canon 70-200 L F2.8 IS USM MK2 in my hand, sometimes stacked on top of my 1.4 or 2x Canon L series MKII teleconverters.
I hope you enjoy looking at my images and come back occasionally to see what new images i have captured, and of course if you wish to hang any on your wall, please feel free to purchase one, or contact me if you have other questions. I only use One Vision lab for my image printing and framing fulfillment, they are certainly not the cheapest but as any pro will tell you, they are undoubtedly one of the best the UK has to offer.
Please beware of cheap printers, you don't want the print arriving at your door looking a totally different colour to that which you chose on screen, nor for the expensive print you bought to start fading... show more

Planning to do Skiddaw at weekend and with so many routes to take! But where is the best place to park? Is there any natural trust car parks?
Stewart S. replied:
This is my favourite route. To be honest, I wouldn't bother with skiddaw via any other route. http://www.stewartsandersonphotography.co.uk/blog/2016/4/skiddaw-round-via-ullock-pike-with-steph
