  Gastown Tattoo is a great shop. I know a few people that have had work done there and everything I've seen has been amazing. Stop by the shop and talk to some of the artists/employees about your ideas. If you're a rookie they'll walk you through the process. http://gastowntattoo.com/

  Head down to [Gastown Tattoo Parlour](http://gastowntattoo.com/). My girlfriend has two of hers and I have one of mine from there by Matt Houston. Great guy, amazing artist. He may not be totally the style you'd be going for but they've got a great group of artists, and the staff have always been very inviting and accommodating. Check out the portfolios on the website, or even better stop in sometime. Someone there would be more than happy to talk about what you want and try to match you with an artist who'd fit your needs the best. They'd also be the first to tell you if they think you'd be better off somewhere else and probably have some recommendations for ya.
