About us

The band consists of 25 players with a weekly practice on Monday evenings 7:30pm - 9:30pm, at Marshside Temperance Hall, Southport. Practice is normally attended by at least 75% of the band.

We have a new Conductor Peter Lockett who has slotted right in to the spirit of the band, and is continuing the good work of former Conductor Peter Leary who we were sad to lose but wish him all the very best in his retirement and to whom we owe a debt of thanks for improving our band in the time he spent with us.

Calling bands in and around Liverpool. In September, I will be losing one of my percussion section as he moves to Liverpool for uni. Although he entered brass banding just 4 months ago, he was already a competent kit player. In his time with us, his reading has improved greatly, and has learned to follow direction. He is keen to continue banding while in Liverpool, so with this in mind, does anyone have any suggestions for a friendly lower section band that would welcome a budding percussionist. Thanks

Marshside brass band would make him feel very welcome. We meet in southport. www.marshsidebrassband.co.uk or@marshsidebrass we practice Monday evenings and are a friendly local brass band who does not compete. Others players always welcome.
