[Oahu] rental car company Hello! My SO and I are coming to Oahu the end of March- we’ve been looking into different rental car companies and there seems to be such a mixed bags of reviews on which one to choose(from getting scammed, getting a poorly taking care of car, etc.,) I was wondering if anyone has a preferred company they’ve used in the past they’d recommend?
Thanks in advance!

[Oahu] Which rental car for vacation? Hi Reddit, I am actually looking for a rental car for our summer vacation at Waikiki and I want to ask you for advice.
4 persons (2 adults + 2 Kids)
Duration 18 days
Pick up and drop off at Oahu airport.
3 big bags and hand luggage
Which rental company and which car type would be best?
Many thanks in advance.

We went last year with two small kids. At first we rented with a local company and had a terrible experience, during the trip we switched to Alamo and was pretty good, you have to take a shuttle though, but the good thing is they didn't charge extra for my toddler's seat. Edit: if you book it [here](https://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com) it might be cheaper.
Hi! Any recommendations for a car rental company on Maui? We would like to rent a Jeep in April. Thanks a lot
Joy M. replied:
If your not a member of Costco check out the site Discount Hawaii Car Rental. They look at all car rental agencies and give you the best pricing for what you want. Agree, w/Mickey(above) to always re-check the sites/agencies a week before going to Maui if any drop in pricing and if so, re-book and cancel your previous reservation. Good luck and Aloha! https://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/

I have a jeep rented through discount Hawaii car rental for June. I did not find Jeeps on Costco's site for the time I am going, but Costco had a decent price for a Mustang. My point is...check several sights, especially if looking for a certain type of car.
Are there inside connections for cheaper car rentals on Maui? I'm needing an economy rental from Dec. 24th-Jan. 7th and if with insurance I can get something for less than $900 for my 14 days, that'd be good. Priceline and carrentals .com etc. are putting me at just over $1,000. That's with insurance. Thanks.

Try www.discounthawaiicarrental.com . I have used them traveling to other islands and always got a cheaper rate. No money or credit card down and you can cancel anytime without penalty. If you find something cheaper, just cancel. I have never had any problems with them and their customer service is very helpful.
Currently starting my process of booking our trip to Oahu in April. Can anyone recommend any sites to go through or companies to go through? Right now I'm looking into just air fare & car rentals. I did a search through Hawaiian Airlines package deal & flights for 2 adults & 1 child plus car rental came to $820.00 Ideally we'd like to fly out the night of April 6, 2016 & return April 9, 2016 at night. Any information is much appreciated.

Omg I have to take my daughter to check in school in honolulu but the hotels are crazy ! What's the best place to stay without making U bankrupt!

I always use discounthawaiicarrental.com Dozens of hotel sites compete for best prices (kayak.com). All can be a problem if it's a week when every cheap hotel is sold out (it happens) and you're only left with high end rooms. Then airbnb.com might be the only choice.
We will be spending seven days MOC in September. There will be two couples. Any recommendations on car rentals? Also is there a charge to park your rental car at MOC?
Linda D. replied:
Yes, they charge for self-parking and the spaces are small and fill up quickly. Valet parking is just a little bit more (something like $19 daily vs $17). For rental cars, this site offers great deals (for visitors to Hawaii only - no locals) and your reservation is made with the national companies of your choice: http://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/

I second the Discount Hawaii Car Rental. Go ahead and book with them, then, at the last minute, try Priceline to try and get a better rate.
We are heading to Maui in a few weeks - staying in Kihei. Just wondering if anyone has used public transportation instead of renting a vehicle and how good it was? Or any ideas on cheap rentals?

The last two times we went back we used http://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/ They use all the major rental companies but the rates are a lot cheaper. And you can reserve without having to pay anything.
Tips or coupons for reasonable car rentals in Maui for January....anyone?

Totally recommend these guys, we've used them twice for Hawaii, and you don't pay up front, so if the rate comes down, simply rebook and cancel your original. http://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/

Hi everyone. We are off to Maui from Jan 20-27 for our honeymoon. We have flights purchased and lodging for the 25-26 in Hana.
Looking for a condo or other place to stay in Kihei from the 20-24 evenings. Prefer entire property (not shared accomodation). VRBO and AIRBNB are returning some results but we havn't had much luck hearing back. Does anyone have any other leads? Looking to keep it around $150 per night.
Also, what is a car rental looking like for cost (7 days)?
Thanks!
