Childhood Cancer Foundation (CCF) is a national parent led voluntary charity (CHY21198) established in 2013. Our goal is to raise awareness of childhood cancer, to advocate for children with cancer and their families and to help fund improvements in supports and services which benefit children with cancer and their families. Projects: - Play Services (a full time play specialist) on St John's Haematology/Oncology Day Unit, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin (OLCHC). - A Complementary Therapy Research Project in conjunction with UCD School of Nursing which investigates the benefits of complementary therapies given to children on St. John’s Ward, while in active treatment for cancer. - Beads of Courage® which is an internationally recognised arts in medicine programme designed to help children understand and cope better with their cancer diagnosis. Over 200 children attending St. John’s Ward have enrolled on Beads of Courage® since January 2016. - Shared Care Hospital Project which aims to improve isolation room facilities and supports for children while hospitalised in any of 16 shared care hospitals countrywide.
