My partner and I need to repoint our interior brick wall, and given the historic nature of the materials, I was wondering if any of you have used any good masons in the past or if you have any recommendations for local contractors/handymen who know their way around reconstructing old Philly row homes? We've had hit-or-miss results with house help recently and we'd like someone with a proven track record for work on our wall. Thank you!

  I had a good experience with Kevin Malesic of OTW Masonry (267-255-9890). I was hoping to find a mason that would use a natural hydraulic lime mortar (which is usually better for older masonry as it is more permeable and softer than most Portland cement-based mortars) and that is what they typically use. He also gave me a discount when the job ended up taking less time than he expected.
