  911!!!! Update: the babies have been picked up. Thanks to everyone for making this happen so fast. Update: Finder went back. There's a second live baby. He checked the pouch. Unfortunately the rest were run over. I was just contacted about this very very young opossum. It needs immediate care. Located in Alvin. The finder cannot take care of this baby. Mom was hit by a car. 2 other babies did not survive. There might be more babies in her pouch. Who can check? The finder is headed back to the location to move mom out of the road. I don't have transportation. Baby needs to be picked up ASAP! Please do not suggest we contact wildlife. We did that last year and they wouldn't come out until morning. I have the finders contact information.

  Is there a place that takes in squirrels? We had a baby squirrel show up today and watch us while we were outside. Then our cat got ahold of it. I've got it in a carrier but I'm told cat bites are normally fatal if it not taken to a rescue. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

  It's illegal to own squirrels. If you find one you have to take it to the gulf coast wildlife rescue. Call the number and leave a voicemail and they'll call you back. They have people all over that you drop them off with. I've taken a couple to a lady in east columbia.
