  Looking for an interesting hotel/motel to stay at during trip. I am going to be traveling from DC to IL on Friday/Saturday. I am driving with my wife and the halfway point is Columbus and instead of driving straight through I'd like to stay and relax for the night. I didn't want to just stay at a best western or red roof though. I am looking for some place not to expensive but it doesn't have to be dirt cheap. Just someplace thats a little more interesting. On one trip I stopped at a really crappy scary motel that resembled the Bates motel and liked just enjoying the atmosphere and was looking for something interesting or creepy or just someplace you recommend. Thank you in advance! Edit: I am starting to write lists of different places to check out. I can only go to one but all of your suggestions have been great and I definetely have a plethora of places to look into now. Thanks everyone!

  Not sure about cost. But you should check out the Worthington Inn. (http://worthingtoninn.com/) It's a historic building that is supposedly haunted. Also has a great restaurant and is in the middle of a pretty cool area in Columbus. Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Edit: just checked the website. I'm not sure they operate as an "inn" anymore. I don't see any way to book a room. Might be worth a phone call though.
