About us
Tom Baker is an ambitious and creative Acoustic artist who has the passion and enthusiasm to represent the South West as one of the stand out musicians to follow. His drive and determination doesn't overshadow his undoubted talent and after numerous television and radio appearances as well as frequent festival bookings, his career is certainly gathering momentum.
Growing up on the outskirts of Plymouth, Tom has a unique style, fusing cover versions of popular classics with a varied range of original material. This has won favour for him throughout the United Kingdom, especially in his home town, where he started playing at the age of thirteen. Now, he has a booking schedule that sees him actively working in some of the cities most popular venues, as well as frequently guesting around the rest of the country.
A keen contributor to the homegrown talent in Plymouth, Tom organises many Open Mic Nights across the South West, giving opportunities to many an artist, up and coming and established! He also organised and hosted a scouted audition night for BBC 1's well established show 'The Voice', in which many artists auditioned. He also appeared on the show in 2013.
Tom's writing talents have been noticed by many a producer, recently UK Top 40 Trance Artist 'Lost Witness' headunted Tom to write some material for future collaborations and has he has since been approached by Scarlett Entertainment (one of the countries leading musical agencies) for representation. Devon based radio station 'Eatmusic' (who concentrate on underground and home-grown talented musicians) have frequently interviewed him and his live performances are so well received he is almost guaranteed to perform again.
For the future, Tom has been diligently writing some original material for his album, as well as collaborations with Lost Witness, which he often performs live in his sets. Numerous record labels have shown interest in his material.
