Does anyone have any good tips for helping lower back pain? I've been to the chiropractor and regret it... I guess my L4 and L5 are pinching my nerves. I really don't want to spend a ton of money going to the chiropractor forever.

I was in a car accident and herniated 2 discs in my lower back. I've tried everything from massage, physical therapy and injections finally ending in back surgery. Over a year of trying different methods I've learned a ton. Massage is great, but temporary. Physical therapy can work in some cases, but didn't change anything for me. Injections help, however, the more you do them the less they help. You are only supposed to have 4 injections a year. I've heard that if you continue on that path that it deteriorates things over time and makes it worse. The chiropractor I went to was amazing and helped a ton! He did decompression and a lot of other things that most don't do. I would highly recommend him! His name is Dr Makin and he is in pleasant grove on state street. Its by Betos across from the purple turtle. It's called Ut spine and sport. I think he would do wonders for you. In my case I had to get surgery because after an MRI we found out a third disc was torn in half, but I know he could help you....give him a call! (801)709-9797. The address is 238 e state PG. Good luck!
