  I had good luck with Federal City Ironworks. They recently did a security gate for our basement. Their number is 202-547-1945 (ask for Tom). It helps to be persistent. Apparently there has recently been quite a rash of break-ins in DC and all of these places are so busy that many don't even bother to call back...
