Looking for a corgi registered gas fitter to disconnect my old free standing cooker and conect my new one asap please
Dave C. replied:
You will need a Gas Safe Engineer to fit it correctly and gas rate the appliance to make sure complete combustion is occurring. Also a few safety items need installing. www.facebook.com/crosslingplumbing
Heads up people - I posted looking for a gas safe engineer and had a guy PM me offering his services. A quick Google found him to have been served a notice not to work with gas as he's not registered. Handy information. Google is your friend :-)

Hi chorltonians/chorltonites. The main burner isn't coming on for some reason on my boiler. The pilot light is fine - can anyone recommend someone who could have a look?
Dave C. replied:
Turn all parts to boiler off then turn off at mains. Turn back on to reset. Try to light again. Think it may be time to upgrade to a modern boiler www.facebook.com/crosslingplumbing
Can anyone recommend someone who could remove a living flame gas fire and replace it with a grate for a wood/coal burning open fire?
It looks like the existing fireplace ought to be ok for that type of thing, but this strikes me as something that could go massively wrong if you decided to do it without getting an expert in.
Dave C. replied:
I can remove old fire for you and advise on options www.facebook.com/crosslingplumbing
Boiler faulty. A couple of times over last weeks no hot water. Switched off and on again and it's corrected but clearly something wrong, will servicing correct it? Can any body recommend a heating engineer ?
Dave C. replied:
Service will not correct it. Fault finding required. www.facebook.com/crosslingplumbing

Plumber wanted.
We've just moved house to Flixton. There are several plumbing jobs needing to be done. In the not too distant future we want a new bathroom and a central heating upgrade.
But the job we want doing asap is to convert a downstairs shower room back into a utility room. This involves removing a shower cubicle and wash basin, and installing plumbing for a washing machine. Because it's a shower room at the moment there's no electrics in the room, so that needs sorting.
Also because we're removing the wash basin, we'll need a new one installing in the downstairs loo. So we might as well have a new toilet installed at the same time.
Any plumbers able to help us?
Dave N
