We had chimney champs come out to our house today to do a cleaning but apparently they couldn't because we need a "power sweep" and they also said we needed a chimney liner installed (quoted us 1800 for the liner). Obviously as new home owners were not sure about everything that was told to us so are on the search for advice and other companies to call who can give us their suggestion/opinion. TIA!

  Good Morning Neighbors! Opinions please! I had my chimney cleaned and was told that I need a new stainless steel liner for my oil/wood burning boiler to replace the terra cotta one that is probably as old as the house (built in 79) - here is my question. Does it make sense to consider replacing my boiler to put in a smaller more efficient one that will then allow me to have a smaller (6" vs 8") liner put in? I have never used the wood burning part of the boiler and have not had any problems with the boiler but do know that it is a dinosaur. Also, who would you call out for a second opinion on chimney & masonry work? Thanks everyone!! Enjoy this day!
