About us
We are checkerboardsSTUDIOS, led by partners Emma + Geoffrey. We are partners in life. Partners in business. Partners in parenting. Partners in all the crazy. Our backgrounds are in Architecture, but we use that training to explore all scales of design, from photography to city planning. We use our passion for great design to educate and transform our clients' lives!
We love to travel all around the globe to see friends and family (and for work!). Our work is made better through exposure to new ideas, cultures, and people!
We are an extremely mobile and virtual office. We love to meet up face to face for client collaboration and energy, but also have found that the internet makes this world a LOT smaller and a LOT more affordable. Linking up with clients and collaborators from all over the country, we can do what we do best from just about anywhere. This flexibility has allowed us to team up with spectacular people in Nashville, TN, Madison, WI, Salt Lake City, UT, Los Angeles, CA, and even Canada! (Does that make us international?)
