Nicholas Karlin and his team shoot digital and film together, striving for photographs that are classic and timeless.
Nicholas would describe their style as modern, wedding photojournalism. He realized they don't like to move things during a wedding photo shoot. They rather shoot weddings as if it was an editorial assignment. Nicholas and his assistant Clarissa follow the bride and groom during the day, capturing their natural reactions and beauty without being in the way. During the portrait session, Nicholas is the lead photographer, working with the couple to make them feel relaxed and at ease, while Clarissa is working to make sure that everything stays on schedule as close as it can. On the day of the wedding, Nicholas would use medium format film cameras along with his digital cameras to add a special touch.
Nicholas and Clarissa work with the couples and other wedding vendors prior to and on the day of the wedding to ensure that the day can go as smoothly as possible. Clarissa is the point of contact as the assistant, helping with scheduling and any photo-related questions prior to the wedding. They'll help form a wedding timeline and help make the couple feel comfortable in front of the camera during an engagement portrait session.
