About us

Doxie Tales Rescue, Inc is a dachshund rescue based out of N Central FL. We are a not for profit, 501C3 Charity, operated by volunteers, lead by President Ginger Snyder and Vice President Julia Bechard. We also have other Board members and a diverse professional Support Committee. Most importantly, we have a team of foster moms and dads who are simply unparalleled! We rescue dachshunds from life threatening and/or unfortunate situations. Our goal in many cases is to prevent them from entering the animal control/shelter system. Once rescued, we provide them with ALL vet care needed and foster them in our homes, going far above and beyond a warm bed and food! Once we feel they are ready, we have a diligent process of finding them the right forever home.

Vetting rescued dogs is very expensive. It is not appropriate for us to ask all money to be donated. There are a FEW times when our adoption fee is more than our "financial investment" in a specific dog. But in most cases, the adoption fee is much less than our "financial investment" in a specific dog. Many dogs cost us hundreds to thousands of dollars in vetting fees alone. We spay/neuter (unless the doxie is too young,) provide dentals if needed, vaccinate, microchip, deworm, give heartworm prevention (or treatment) and provide all vet care, procedures or surgery that is advised by our selected Veterinarians.

When adopting a rescued dog from Doxie Tales, you are supporting our rescue - not just the single dog you are adopting. We do not negotiate on adoption fees - SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK.

My name is Ginger and I am the founder of Doxie Tales. My husband's name is Pete and he also sits on our board and is a tremendous help to the rescue. We love being a part of wonderful team of people who help precious dachshunds in need.

Thank you to our friends for being a very important part of Doxie Tales and supporting our mission!

Love, Ginger from Doxie Tales
