About us
Well, let's just get honest. Can we do that? I like being real and to the point. I'm just a normal, every day gal just like you and your family. There's nothing Pinterest perfect or perfectly curated about me. I mean, I do have the best and the most ah-mazing ideas pinned to Pinterest (you too, right!?) and have every intention of doing them to show off to all of social media how I'm totally winning at mom of the year....but there's kind of the whole "Pinterest fail" thing. We "might" have had a crock pot that up and left never to be seen again because a Pinterest pot roast recipe went horribly wrong. It's actually happened twice. Yeah. I know. Don't judge.
So who am I when I'm not hiding my Pinterest fails? I am a total pro at writing run on sentences, and misplacing punctuation. If you're an English teacher or just have a thing for sentence and paragraph structure you might have stopped reading by now. I'm totally rockin' out the leggings and messy buns "style" (or lack of). I should probably start thinking about an anti-aging regimen since I'm at the end of my 30's. I worked as a dermatology MA for ten years. You'd think I'd have a regimen. I drink too much coffee, stay up later than I should, love Latin American food, and drive the backroads in my Chevy Silverado with the windows down blaring Waylon Jennings or any old country music. Jesus is the at the center of all I do, my family is my priority, and I absolutely love serving others. Hospitality and serving are my wheelhouse. There's just nothing better.
Ok, so, about us: Brandon and I met in 2002, married in 2004, and if you've ever seen "The Notebook", that's us to a tee. He tells me when I'm a pain, and I tell him when he's being one too...and we love each other just as fiercely. I truly couldn't imagine life without him, and he's the whole reason this little photography business is what it is (thanks, babe). Our daughter was a total miracle, and we haven't ever been able to have more children since. We... show more
count our blessings every day for her. We bought a small farm in 2015 knowing it might hurt my photography business because people see our address and instantly think we are on the other side of the world We aren't though! London address but WAY closer to Grove City. If we were two miles further east we'd be a Grove City address. But, it was a risk we were willing to take in hopes that we would build a life we had only dreamed about. That was much more important to us, honestly. It's a lot of early mornings, muddy boots, moving 40lb feed bags and straw or hay bales, weed pulling, garden tending, sweaty everything, dirty hands, and a whole bunch of sweet animals to love and spoil. We weren't sure how we would like this life...but, we absolutely love it! Our hope is to become as sustainable as possible, and maybe even teach others along the way of what they can do even in their own backyards.
Hopefully I get the chance to meet you, and welcome you here to our cozy studio space and our farm. Just about every family that comes says they don't ever want to leave. So, we grab a sweet tea, sit around on one of the porches, and just let the kids enjoy themselves running around and exploring the farm. Families really do become like family to us...and listen, I know this experience isn't for everyone. But if it is for you, trust me. You're gonna love it here...and we can't wait to see you! show more
