Help a Mom Out: She writes:
"I have a 4 1/2 yr old son who is visually impaired (septo-optic dysplasia) and was recently diagnosed with Autism. He is non-verbal(only having word approximations for about 20 words). I recently found out about Dynavox as means for him to possibly learn to communicate. I mentioned it to his speech therapist and she said she didn't like it. She said for the cost of the device, it was very hard to program. I am wondering what others that have experience with this device and an almost completely non-verbal child would have. If you don't use Dynavox, but use another device, I am wondering what other devices there are. Thank you."
