Can anyone recommend a good vet in town for this little pup? We just moved here and need to find one. 2 year old, 40 pound shepherd mix. Someplace that takes Care Credit would be a plus but not an absolute necessity.

I use Amesbury Animal Hospital...big thing I have called them in the middle of the night for an emergency AND DR SMITH MET ME AT THE DOOR!

Oh this is a tough one.... Dr Zelman and Dr. Guerillo (sp?) at Newbury Animal hospital are awesome but they're NOT cheap. Also, the wait time in the waiting room is unruly, especially if you have a pet that gets stressed. We would sit in our car for up to 30 minutes with a panting old pup. They also don't do a lot of procedures there so we ended up having to go elsewhere for things like ACL or removal of thyroid.
And where they actually sent us was Amesbury animal hospital.... To Dr. Candy. He was awesome. We made the very hard decision to switch to them full time. We've only been twice to the new facility and things have been a bit disorganized (showing up and being told we had the wrong day / time when they called to confirm the day before, etc) but they're fantastic and I'd say their rates are 20% better than Newbury.
Recommendations on a vet....we recently adopted our dog and need a great vet in the area!

We take our dog to the Amesbury one. It use to be right across from the provident bank it's now on elm st. I think it's just called Amesbury animal hospital. They were very nice and it seemed reasonably priced compared to our other vet we had

We had a terrible experience with Amesbury Animal Hospital (dog was misdiagnosed and it led to her death) and after trying a few vets in the area & asking around, the #1 recommendation we got was Dr Shankin at Newburyport veterinary (177 Storey Ave). He's great and his annual visit cost $100 less than our previous vet in Salisbury.
Rachel W. replied:
Amesbury Animal hospital is fantastic! We switched to them ten years ago and they have been fabulous from day one. They treat both the humans and the animals with the same kindness and respect.
