  Dr. Franz is in Orlando… a 3 hour drive… She's good (not as good as Berger) but it's very hard to get an appt with her. She has others in her group but I'd only go with her. http://drcorneliafranz.com/ As far as I know, there's not many who properly treat their child with DS in the Miami area… I hope I'm wrong and just haven't come across them. I'll post a couple more places and see what I come up with. The family can always Skype with Dr. Erica Pierson or Dr. Norm Schwartz. They ARE experts in DS.

  In Orlando, The Franz Center is great. All 3 of my kids go there... The Dr's and NP's all treat whatever problem the kids are having with homeopathy first..   Hi Audra, There is a doctor off of Orange Ave. that is a pediatric MD that would probably be your best option. She is really good and practices holistic medicine, but if you want to see her (instead of the other newer doc or the nurse practitioner), it takes awhile to get an initial appt. She spent a lengthy amount of time with us for initial appt and I never felt rushed. Her name is Cornelia Franz and her practice is called The Franz Center. Their website is drcorneliafranz.com.   If you find a good one...let me know. I wasn't impressed with the one I tried in Clermont. I found one online named Susan Cornilia Franz. She is located in Orlando...which is a drive, but she has been recommended as one that doesn't push vaccinations. You can check out her website at: http://www.franzcenter.com/ It looks like she has a more wholeistic approach. I hate to drive that far to see the doctor...but it is worth it if you don't have to argue with them about your rights as a parent. Good luck

  The Franz center is awesome! We do a modified vaccine schedule with them if your looking for something like that. They will also keep the traditional schedule if that's what you prefer. They practice a mixture of eastern and western medicine so they do a lot of homeopathic remedies when medicine will not help.
