What started off as a whatsapp group of animal lovers bearing the name Jeev Bandhu in July 2015 has now come of age. With people from different walks of life as members of Jeev Bandhu--from Military/ Police Officers through researchers/ engineers and down to college students, Pashupati Animal Welfare Society is an executive extension of the original network.
Pashupati, named after Lord Shiva, the Protector of all animals has been formed with the express aim of pooling funds by members and raising same from the public and retaining in a secure and auditable Bank Account. Funds thus collected would be promptly released to NGOs on a case by case basis as and when any member of Pashupati or Jeev Bandhu would initiate any treatment through an NGO's hospital or through local private vet/ paravet.
Pashupati also plans to employ a hired ambulance van to begin with a motorcycle mounted paravet on payroll that is absolutely required for rushing help to a distressed animal on the streets. This is to avoid reliance on the already strained resources of the animal lover volunteers.
This section shall be further updated when detailed work programmes of Pashupati would be drawn up in the days to come.
