Dentist Recommendations? Hey! I'm a undergrad student at UW-Madison and I'm looking to get braces put on sometime soon! Since I'll be in Madison most of the year, I'm looking for Dentist recommendations in Madison. Who would you recommend or not recommend? Were the costs reasonable?
Thanks!

I go to DHA which is a dental practice in Madison that has multiple locations in the Madison area. https://www.dhamadison.com/ I[m happy with them. Let me know if you want a referral. As for costs, I'm not sure what they charge for orthodontics, but your overall out of pocket costs will be a few thousand, more if you have a case that requires corrective jaw surgery or other procedures. Some folks may have insurance that defrays part of the cost.

i can tell you who to stay away from. Stay away from First Choice Dental. They always seem to find something that needed to be corrected with my teeth. A cavity here, a special procedure there. They are constantly trying to upsell you on some procedure or treatment. I switched to Dental Health Associates and love them. They have been excellent.
dental recommendations I have SERIOUS dental anxiety, but am having a problem that needs attention. I do have insurance, but it doesn't cover any of the "no fear" or sedation dentistry - basically, I have to go to a "chain dentist" like DHA or Forward or First Choice. Any good dentists at ANY of those places? They all seem pretty indifferent about patients, and mostly care about money, but maybe there's someone good there.

I have dental anxiety due to a combination of bad dental experiences and a high tolerance to lidocaine. From other posts on this subreddit, I tried [Dr. Rambod Fard](http://www.dhamadison.com/doctors/dr-rambod-fard) at Dental Health Associates and he is *fabulous*. He is patient, understanding, and doesn't mind taking the time to *listen* to you. I had 5 fillings redone in one visit and he would stop periodically and ask how I was doing and if I needed a break. His assistant and the hygienist I saw are pretty awesome too. Hands down, he is the best dentist I have been too so far.
Need suggestions for inexpensive dentist I need two crowns, the last place I went to is the one that always advertises in the paper "cheap crowns" but they ended up charging me $2,000 for a crown, google says it should cost $500-1,500.
Can anyone recommend a place?
Most of the previous dentist posts ask for "the best", I don't need the best, just the cheapest.

I see Dr Fard at [Dental Health Associates](http://www.dhamadison.com/doctors/dr-rambod-fard). He's done really well with my crowns and I believe the last one I had was around $1200. I don't have dental insurance so paid everything out of pocket. He let me go about 6 months with a temp crown until I could afford to have the perm crown put on.
Can anyone recommend a good pediatric dentist in Madison?
