  I am looking to enroll my dog in a basic obedience class. Are any classes beginning around the first of the year? I am also looking for recommendations. My dog is a one year old-ish yellow lab. I recently adopted her and she is sweet as can be but does display jealously and territorial issues. I also want to improve her obedience. Any recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  Lots of good training options in Athens! Sit Happens, Pawtropolis, Lucky Dog, K9 Insight. All are good but different!

  Sounds like Great Beginnings with Tamela at Pawtropolis would be what you're looking for. She also does behavior modification and could give you some tips on how to control that resource guarding you mentioned. She has a class starting on January 5 th. There are lots of other options out there, but I'm not familiar with most classes outside of P-trop.

  I know several people who go there and a friend of mine actually owns Doguroo and another location. Webcams, pictures, great staff. Pawtropolis is in Athens - www.pawtropolis.com - and I used to work there, would recommend it, except in order to participate in daycare, they have to be scheduled for a temperament test first, which is only done on weekdays.

  And Pawtropolis does have normal style boarding where they can go in a big run together or separate and go out for potty breaks. Playtime, walks, etc. are extra.
