In June 2012, Monika Wiela was walking along Michigan Avenue in Chicago when she saw a homeless man holding a sign that said “I need shoes”. As the owner of CherryMad.com, an online shoe store, Monika desperately wanted to help him. Not having a pair of man shoes, she decided to go back later on with a pair of shoes but the homeless man was no longer there.
This event had such a profound effect on Monika. She soon began to think of ways to help people in similar situations. The day after it happened! She knew exactly how she wanted to help. And so the idea was born. She would connect people in a way never done before and help them to give back in a convenient and simple way to help millions.

For anyone who has piles of Amazon boxes in their garage, now they can be recycled in a different way: by sending them to Goodwill. Amazon is asking people to fill their empty shipping box with clothing and household items that can be donated. Then, print a free shipping label from GiveBackBox.com. Bring the box to a local post office or UPS store, and they will deliver it to the closest Goodwill. Amazon said the box doesn’t have to be an Amazon box specifically, it will take any cardboard box as long as it’s in good condition
