The cold weather has reminded us that we need to get an Energy Audit of our home. I know most HVAC companies will do one and recommend their own products as the solution. We want to hire someone with no agenda. Any recommendations?

Maybe you should consider a full home inspection. This is done during a home buying process (or else the buyer is a fool). But you can also do it any time you want to get a pro looking for issues with your home, anything from roof leaks to foundation issues and everywhere in between. The only thing is, I'm not sure how specific they may get into the HVAC system, because a home inspection is supposed to sort of cover all bases. I've used a particular home inspector twice on two different homes if you want a recommendation: Chris Shupp / http://www.holmes-watson-inspection.com
