  Zillow to start charging $9.99 per listing per week, starting in September. I just received an email from Zillow with the news that they plan on charging for rental listings in September. I’m not against paying, however this announcement has prompted me to start shopping around for good alternatives. I mange 4 smallish multi family buildings in a large city in the Pacific Northwest. I’ve been using Zillow exclusively the past few years and it’s worked out okay.I’m trying to decide if the upcoming fee is worth it. Also I’d love it if anyone has any recommendations for other rental advertising platforms that have yielded great results. Thanks!

  I’ve never had luck with Zillow. Apartments.com and our property website tend to be our biggest source of lead traffic. We also have rentpath and apartmentlist.com. I like ApartmentList because it’s a one time commission for each leased apartment instead of a monthly fee. Of our 500 units, I get about 1 lease through AL a quarter.

In particular, I'm looking for a large complex with garage parking (or covered) and lot of amenities New to town, and I want to rent for a year or two, before thinking about house hunting (just sold a house in another city). I've been browsing on apartments.com but I have a sense it isn't really showing me all of the complexes, but maybe just the ones that have paid them to be listed? Is there a more complete website? I'm somewhat open to location, would consider SW Pdx, Milwaukie, Oswego, even Vancouver (though I'd prefer the Oregon side) -- I'm not commuting to a 9-5 gig but work from home. I'd even consider downtown but I suspect parking there might be harder and it might be at a higher price point than I really want to pay.

  Craigslist for sell-by-owner. Autolist.com and Auto-trader for everything else; just set up search terms and let it find what you want (it covers ebay). Utilize car-fax on anything you are considering (dealers should all make that available to you). A friend of mine owns Automerchants inc. in Plano. He's a straight shooter and nice to work with. I heard the outlying smaller cities out east like Watkins are cheaper. Is this true? I need a place as quickly as possible for as cheap as possible that will accept cats, and possibly dogs. Can't be room share as it's for my mother and grandmother, with possibly me if I have to sell my car to fix my uncle's screw up (men, stop following your dicks and use your brains).   There are decent apartments/homes at apartmentlist.com ... You narrow down what you need within your price range. I would advise staying away from sites like craigslist, since they like to take advantage. Best of luck to you and your family!

What can a 2 year old possibly use that you raise rent that much higher. It's sick. This woman I called had a nice place and once I mentioned my daughter she said no children"

  Dog friendly apartments near Rosemount include: (in Eagan) Glen Pond Apartments, Royal Oaks Apartments, Lemay Lakes Apartments, Promenade Oaks; (in Apple Valley) Cedar Valley Apartments, Boulder Ridge and Hearthstone...That's just a few. If you go to apartmentlist.com you can put in your criteria. It showed 199 apartments for rent near Rosemount.
