Welcome to The Red Townhouse where we offer comfortable, relaxing Bed & Breakfast accommodation.
Penrith is a bustling market town in Cumbria, perfectly located on the edge of the Lake District National Park and a great base for exploring The Lakes. We are also well located for anyone travelling the Coast to Coast Cycle Route, (we have secure cycle storage) or indeed the Land's End to John O'Groats long distance route. Don't forget the beautiful Eden Valley and North Pennines area which are also on our doorstep, together with easy access to Hadrian's Wall to the north. The Scottish Border is only 20 miles north on the M6, making The Red Townhouse an ideal Penrith accommodation stop when travelling to and from Scotland.
We are only about 5 minutes' drive from the M6 motorway (junction 40 or 41) and the main A66 cross Pennine route. The top end of Ullswater (Pooley Bridge) is only 5 miles from Penrith.
We are a short walk from Penrith North Lakes railway station. We offer a pick up and drop off service from the railway station.
The Red Townhouse is a Victorian town house, built with local red sand stone and a red painted front door ! We are located in a quiet part of town designated as a conservation area, yet only 5 minutes' walk from Penrith town centre and it's wide variety of local shops, pubs and restaurants.
We have off road parking and secure bike storage available for our guests.
I'm thinking of coming up on my motorbike, does anybody know of bike friendly hotels
