  the drip of water hitting the burner pan/tray is usually the signe of a internal leak . check your labels and see if your water heater is reached its age ( 10 years ) the water that is hitting the burner tray is most likely going to put out your piolt , the water is most likely comming from the stem core/tube . possible replacment .... 505 -369- 8394
