About us
I make weighted blankets and weighted lap pads, busy/sensory books, sensory toy, games and more. They are custom made to your specifications or you can purchase one that I have in stock. I also design soft sensory boards and custom made sensory boards. Most of my sensory boards are washable as they are made with fabric. Through correspondence I will design for you the perfect board. As seen in my store, your board can be any size you wish. Please contact me for custom made orders.
Weighted blankets have been proven to be an effective product for people to help with anxiety, Autism, dementia, restless leg syndrome, sleep disorders, ADHD and more. They have even been proven to help relax patients in the dental chair.
The "hugging" effect one gets from a weighted blanket is a type of sensory calming called proprioceptive input, this is a gentle pressure on the muscles and joints. Proprioceptive input sends signals to the brain that cause serotonin to be released, which is the neurotransmitter in the brain that makes people feel happy. An increase in serotonin causes natural melatonin to be released in the brain giving even more of a feeling of calm.
All of the sensory products are handmade by me. They are designed of soft fabrics making them safer for the user and those working with them! Because they are designed with fabric they are easy to travel with as they fold down to a portable size.
Most of the items can be machine washed, laying it flat to dry.
