  You may be a little to the party at 17 weeks, but [CHOICE Midwives](https://www.choicemidwives.org) provides both Midwife and Doula services. Their team started in the early 1970 s providing home births and Doula services. They are not affiliated, or beholden to any local hospital or medical practice and provide comprehensive prenatal care and birth eduction. Our four, wonderful children were born at home with CHOICE midwives in attendance. One had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and one was 11.4 oz. You can work with them in complete confidence.

  [CHOICE Midwives](http://www.choicemidwives.org/) provides homebirth and doula services. After four homebirths, my family can heartily recommend them. I do not believe that there are any non-hospital birthing centers in Ohio, but the doula can accompany you to the hospital and act as your advocate.

  Attention Columbus Mommies!!! I need to know what OBGYN or Midwives you guys recommed in the area!!! We need one that is okay with birth plans and delivers at Riverside. My friend wants to attempt a natural birth with no meds but her doctor refuses to agree to that. She isn't saying she wont take meds if need be, but she doesn't want them until they are needed. She is due end of April so she's pretty far along -- and is looking to switch ASAP to a doctor who will allow her to go natural! Please let me know if you know of any doctors or Midwives like this :)

  She could always check out http://www.choicemidwives.org/ and go for a home birth If it is not recommended that she have a natural birth the midwives will guide her in the right direction
