They don't need to be too heavy or huge and the widest the blade needs to be is about 4-5". Seems like I might be asking for too big of a blade from the comments so far. I was thinking a long handled timber framing adze but also a shorter hand adze for finer work in the 2-3" range. I have a small mill to cut timbers and wanted to dress their surface to look more hand adzed instead of sawn. Can someone point me to information on where to start?
