Places to visit for a one-week trip? Hi all, I will visit a friend in Columbus for a week. My friend works during the day so I will have a lot time exploring the city by myself. I do not want to be like a tourist visiting famous places one after another; rather, I want to have a real experience of *living* in Columbus, such as visiting good coffee shops and doing some reading, enjoying some local beers, eating at some good but not too pricy restaurants, and, of course, some museums and bookstores will be nice.
Could you recommend some places to visit if I want to feel what it is like to live in Columbus? Thank you and happy new year!

The first thing that comes to mind is the [short north](http://shortnorth.org/) district. It started out as the stretch of road between the old city proper and the university. Now it's full of trendy restaurants and stores. When my mother visits, we go to [Katzinger's Deli](https://www.katzingers.com/) just south of downtown, then go to the [Columbus museum of art](https://www.columbusmuseum.org/). The museum has free admission on Sundays, although you still have to pay to park.
Would love recommendations! Anything fun to do outside, good restaurants, museums. Hit me!
