About us
Stower Vale Pre-school is a rural Pre-school in North Dorset, close to Stour Row, Stour Provost, East & West Stour, Todber and surrounding villages – a short drive from the A30.
We are a community group with charitable status, owned and run by a parent led committee. The land and buildings were purchased in 2001 with Heritage Lottery Funding. Located within the grounds of Stower Provost Community School in the heart of the Blackmore Vale the rural pre-school has it’s own secure, beautiful and well designed outdoor area.
We want the children in our care to have fun whilst learning and developing through play. All activities are carefully planned to meet the needs of the individual child and are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Our aim at Stower Vale Pre-school is to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment where children feel happy and confident in their surroundings. We encourage parent/carers to be involved in some way, whether it be on the committee, helping with fund-raising or sharing your talents. We pride ourselves on our welcoming, friendly and nurturing setting.
The pre-school runs a weekly baby and toddler group in the spacious primary school hall and arranges regular visits to the pre-school for the group to help familiarise the children with the rural pre-school setting. It also offers an after school club and a holiday club. As the pre-school is situated on the same site as the primary school pre-school children can also use the facilities of the school’s breakfast club – providing total wrap-around care
