Hired Amy based on a family members suggestion. Though she may be good at small groups, a wedding photographer she is not. She was given a list of staged shots we wanted taken and maybe half of them were. Those that were received no direction, instead she just snapped a photo and moved on to the next. She also received a list of small group photos we wanted taken during the reception and none of those were taken. Pictures of our reception were largely of the back of peoples heads or blurry and almost none of them looking at the camera or even, you know, smiling...
Don't worry though, if you bring her lackluster performance to her attention, she will be sure to blame your venue, the weather and even YOUR lack of telling this 20 year professional what you wanted done. Silly us, we thought someone with her self proclaimed background and skill would be able to overcome challenges and find a way to get some photos of our guests enjoying themselves. For $300/hr and a $500 "editing fee", for which she brings only herself and her camera (though she willingly admits more photographers would have been helpful), I guess that was just too much to ask.
No biggie, we'll just get some good pictures of our next weddi.... oh, yeah, probably not, eh?
