TV repair recommendations? Our TCL tv just stopped showing any picture one day last week. Anyone know of any good places to get it fixed? Ultimately looking for a house call if we can, just cant seem to find a place that does that.

TVs are super easy to fix. If you can do a little research into the issue and possibly find out what part is messed up (usually common issues can be found with google.) You can pick up cheap parts at [shopjimmy.com](https://shopjimmy.com) and usually find a youtube video on how to replace it. I ordered parts from shopjimmy a few weeks ago to fix my vizio when the main board went out cost me about 25$ and about 20 minutes of my time.
Looking for a TV repair place All of the HDMI ports on my Sony KDL 52S4100 do not work. I have tried different devices and different HDMI cables but not luck. I've tried a power reset and can't do a factory reset because I don't have a remote. All of the HDMI ports stopped working at the same time so I'm thinking it was some sort of power surge(Even though I had it plugged into a surge protector)
I'm going to try a few more things before I bring the TV anywhere but I was wondering where I should bring it. It's a 80 lbs TV so I don't want to put it in my car to find out somewhere isn't gonna take a look at it or it's going to be super expensive (>$100-150)
I live in Virginia Beach so I would prefer there but I wouldn't mind driving to Norfolk(Posting here because it's a lot more active subreddit)

i would guess the board that has the volume control in the TV is bad. usually it has all the buttons and power switch on one board. check out shopjimmy.com for tv replacement parts. I dont fix tv's but i have repaired a 60 inch LCD that didn't work.
HELP NEEDED WITH TV REPAIR: I have a 50" Samsung LED TV just under 2 years old. Screen just went black. Went through the self-diagnostic steps with Samsung online. Will need a service call. Anyone out there know how to fix before I commit to a service call? Our family has purchased this brand before with no problems after 5 years so we felt no need to purchase an extended protection plan :(

Check out the self repair videos on https://www.shopjimmy.com It is not hard to fix these new flat screen TVs. I paid under $100 for a part to fix a 60" Samsung someone put out by the road and now it works perfectly.
Hola... I have a Sony Bravia smart Tv. I had it plugged into a surge protector, but there was a close lightening strike and ever since, it does not work.
Anyone have an idea where in San Jose is a good place to get this fixed?
Michael B. replied:
Colin... there is a website called www.shopjimmy.com. they have all type of videos to help you diagnose your problem. Most LED TV'S have a power board and a input/output board. If the screen is good which it probably is you might just need to replace one of those boards. They have video's and awesome customer service to help you diagnose your problem. I ship parts from them all the time and these newer TV are easy to fix. Most boards are $ 30.00 to $ 50.00 depending on your TV. Not sure what your problem is but I have fixed quite a few TV's by just replacing one of the boards

I had an LCD TV go out suddenly. It was about five years old. I researched on the Internet, found a place called ShopJimmy.com and ordered a part for $75.00. Used the video provided at shopjimmy, installed the power board, and the tv is going strong. I was ready to pitch it but $75 and waiting about 3 days for the part saved it.
Does anybody here fix modern TV's? I've got a Samsung PN60E8000 with what I think is a bad power supply that needs to be diagnosed and replaced. The only local repair place won't do in home service. I'd prefer somebody with a business license. Thanks in advance!

Take the back off and you'll see the board that the electrical outlet is connected to. Get the part number off of it and see if shopjimmy.com has one available. It's super ez.
