Hey Chicagoans with cats. I know you're out there. Any recommendations for an affordable, compassionate veterinarian? It's been a few years since my relatively healthy kitty has had an exam. Just to check in on her and make sure she's okay, I'd let to set up an appointment with a responsible, compassionate, and CHEAP vet. I've heard nightmare stories about vets that charge unreasonable amounts for bs-surgeries, as well as sketchy vets with cruel practices. Yelp is all well and good, but I figured why not ask Reddit as well? So Chi Redditors with cats, where you at? Get at me.

I have had good experiences with Roscoe Village Animal Hospital (http://www.roscoevillageanimalhospital.com/) with both our two cats and one dog. My one cat goes beserk at any of a vet, and did pretty well. Dr. Rosner was really great- he does a great job explaining kitty issues. Price wise- I found them to be cheaper than Furnetic (our previous vet), even with the 10% uic student discount.
