If you would like to donate directly to the animals affected by Monday's tornado, the best place seems to be Oklahoma Humane www.oklahomahumane.org They have been working very hard in a very difficult situation. National groups are on their way in, including American Humane and ASPCA. The American Veterinary Medical Foundation is also a wonderful organization that will be helping veterinarians get up and running if their facilities were destroyed. I can't recommend them enough and they would appreciate donations. www.avmf.org

  Hi Judy... My understanding is that the Oklahoma City humane society has opened up part of their facility strictly for the tornado animals and is taking in strays and keeping them as long as necessary for them to reunite with their owners. They are asking for donations. http://www.okhumane.org/

  Audrianna, We at Central Ok humane have all shifts covered for today, but we need donations of towels, paper towels, water at the Quarantine Facility. There is no water pressure there because of the hit the water treatment plant took at Lake Stanley Draper. We will be working 24/7 for a while, bringing in pups from the tornado. If you want to volunteer, I would call 405-286-1229 to get signed up.
