About us
My love for photography started around 10 when I was given a vintage pentax film slr, it continued into high school where I took yearbook, photojournalism, and advanced photojournalism. After all that I went on to complete a professional photography course that took me 2 years, a little later in life. I finally feel like, after almost 15 years, that I have enough education and experience to call myself a "professional", but I still love to learn new tricks every single day and each new session brings something new to my knowledge. I love all photography but my favorites are macro and portraits, and just this year I feel like I have enough experience and the right equipment to handle weddings up to someone's expectations of amazing wedding photographs, as well as the willingness to complete a lengthy session such as that.
I believe anyone can pick up a big expensive camera and call themselves a professional but never know how to understand and manipulate light in different situations they are placed in, get it right the first time through the camera, or operate their camera off of the automatic settings. I do not like to sit and edit photos for hours and would not call myself a professional if I had too. I learned on a film camera which was crucial in getting the picture right the first time bc it simply cost entirely too much to not learn that.
