Ty has been the only positive out of this entire experience. My sister is disabled and wanted to get her drivers license. As she is on disability, she did not have the money to pay for proper training, and since I could comfortably afford it and I had already bought her a car, I went ahead and searched for a company I felt confident would give her the best training. I chose silver state, and boy was that a mistake. I had my sister make the appointment for her first lesson, and she was paired with a lady, diamara. I foolishly assumed, since the reviews I had found online seemed to indicate this place was top of the line, that my sister would be trained with not only the basics, but techniques on how to physically make turns and when to start applying brakes, etc. When my sister returned from her first lesson, I asked her how she liked her instructor. She said that diamara was very nice and patient, so I assumed that diamara was actually TEACHING her things. I was wrong. Since I was under that assumption, I had my sister schedule a second, third and eventually fourth lesson with the same instructor. After that fourth lesson, I suggested that my sister and I go out driving because I wanted to see how much progress she had made. I had gone out driving once before with my sister so I knew her skill level prior to the lessons. I quickly found out that my sister could still barely complete a turn safely, still had no concept of effective braking. within minutes I was quite angered that after 4 two-hour PROFESSIONAL lessons, she still couldn't make it out of our hoa community safely. I had my sister call in and schedule with a different instructor, Ty. I discussed the situation with Ty when he arrived to pick up my sister, and asked him to evaluate her skill level in comparrison to where an average person with her training should be, and see what he could do. Upon returning, he agreed she was nowhere near where she should have been skill wise. He also noted that diamaras notes showed that she had not trained my sister on any type of parking, and in fact diamara couldn't even get the dates or number of lessons correct. Thankfully, we still had the reciepts. after 500 dollars my sister was not even remotely close to passing the drivers test. However, the increase in skill level of my sister after 1 lesson with Ty was impressive. I had her schedule a second lesson with Ty, and she was even better. It was my belief that diamara just drove around with my sis during the lessons, collecting the money. this pissed me off so I called and complained to the owner. The "owner" ericka was even worse. I made my complaint and almost immediately she started making excuses, saying diamara had a high success rate, that it was probably that my sister was "a slow learner", etc. It got to the point where I would be calmly talking, trying to explain that Ty agreed with my observations about diamara, and I wouldn't be able to finish my sentences because ericka would cut me off and talk over me. The sad part is I wasn't trying to get my money back. I was aiming for a couple of free lessons with Ty, because I figured #1 diamara basically ripped us off, not giving us any real value for my money, and #2 I figured if Ty could make that much progress in 2 lessons with my sister another two would put her at the skill level she should have been for 600 dollars and 12 hours of professional training. Ericka of course refused stating that she couldn't afford to give free lessons due tothe cost of gas lol. They have done nothing to show they care about my sisters skill level, or making ammends for drama caused by a trainer who did not do her job and then in fact lied about it. I know this is a long review, but it's a REAL review. I have no reason to type a negative review this long unless it was legit. we have a lot of bad drivers out there, and bs junk driving schools like this are one of the reasons. Avoid this school like the plague.
