Looking for hair salon advice/recommendations (near Middleton/Westside if possible!) I have a work event I want to look nice for this week, and I need to get a haircut Tuesday. Problem is, I'm a tomboy chick and 'don't speak hairdresser' - I never know how to communicate what I want - I had a place I went to before I moved to Wisconsin but 5 hours is a bit far to commute for a haircut. Looking for suggestions for something that's either near Fitchburg (my work) or Middleton/Westside *(where I live), where the stylist could hopefully come up with something for a lazy nerd with shaggy, barely shoulder-length hair. If you have a favorite stylist (or are one!) and know a place that's open past 6:30pm on Tuesdays and not $100, please let me know!

I'm a hair stylist (on the east side), so hopefully my recommendation is a trusted one. Lacey at Julia Grace is fantastic. You will pay $30 or a little more for a haircut though. http://www.juliagracesalon.com/. Otherwise RZ and Co. is good. AniU is good, but can be really pricey. But trust me when I say, that if you are wary, paying a little more is usually indicative of what you will get.
