  Best thrift stores to donate used items? I'm moving apartments soon and looking to downsize quite a bit. Can anyone recommend a good non-religious thrift store that supports a good cause? I have a lot of clothes, small furniture, kitchen items, and books. Williamsburg/Bushwick or East Village/LES is preferable. Thanks!

  Housing Works! They are a non-profit set up to help the homeless and AIDS crises, lots of locations throughout the city http://www.housingworks.org/ Also, Goodwill is a pretty good organization with no religious affiliation

  If anyone is within driving distance to CitiChurch of Dallas tomorrow, bring any high end costume Jewelry (it has to be great), clothing pieces (it has to be designer and in near perfect condition) designer purses, furniture, vases, lamps, art... Bring them for our store "Design on a Nickel" where all of the profit (all volunteers for store) goes to "Hope for the Homeless" the new homeless outreach of CitiChurch. 5 pm service at 1050 N Westmoreland Ave, Dallas, TX 75208

  Also some of the things that seem extra special you could use in your store window. Do an online auction. They do that at housing works here in ny. HousingWorks.org
