In Search of Card Game Printing Services I've made a game, and in November there is a convension I am considering getting a booth for. I'm looking for printing services that can print out custom playing cards roughly the size of a poker deck, and about 55-60 cards.

Go to drivethrucards.com ave crate an account. Set your account up as a publisher account. I've never had to make cards so I'm not sure how to go about making them but it should be under the publish tab at the top of the page. Should be under "printing" or something.
Hey guys, does anyone know where / how to print a deck of cards? :O
They might not be the normal playing card size. I’m planning on printing oracle cards. Probably looking at around 100 sets.

I use DriveThruCards (http://www.drivethrucards.com/). The card decks that I create a Magic the Gathering size.
So my daughter made a rock paper scissors game. For her birthday I'd like to make a professional looking print. Anyone know where I could get that done reasonably priced?
Have you used a service to print out "professional-looking" prototypes? If so, which would you recommend?
I'd like to print out a few copies of an 80 card game, and I'm based in Europe.

If it's just cards, then TheGameCrafter.com, PrintPlayGames.com, DriveThruCards.com, or PrinterStudio.com all do great work. The first two would be best if you need dice/bits and box. Of course most of these are in the USA but PrinterStudio is in China so that might be your best choice.
I am in need of getting 2.5x3.5 cards printed up (style similar to MagicTheGathering). Would anyone have a company they would recommend? Thanks in advance.
Trevor M. replied:
We've worked with drivethrucards.com a few times and it was great.
Dustin O. replied:
I've used printerstudio, arts cow, and TGC, and set up cards for DriveThruCards. DTC has excellent quality cards and fairly low prices, and you can order any quantity in a deck, not just multiples of 18, but file setup is much more difficult and laborious. Both TGC and DTC can act as a storefront for people to order your game.
Elizabeth H. replied:
wow, DriveThruCards is significantly cheaper than some of the other POD options I've looked at. Don't know how I missed them. Thanks guys!
Hello!
Can anyone recommend the company with the best price for custom playing cards? I'm looking for fully custom double-sided print with a custom tuckbox, and an order of 100.
Thanks,
Duncan
Brent M. replied:
James Mathe you have a typo. http://www.drivethrucards.com
Kenneth R. replied:
How many cards in the deck? Rounded or square corners? Matte or Glossy? How thick do you want the cards to be? I can actually print cards - my prices vary based on all of those and a few more options; I might be substantially cheaper or substantially more expensive than drivethrucards and similar outlets, depending on what you're wanting.
Michael I. replied:
I, too, strongly recommend DriveThruCards. I'm using them for production of my game, Otters, and they've been great. However, you mentioned that you need a custom printed tuck box, and DriveThru does not currently offer that. I also saw SuperiorPOD mentioned, and I strongly warn AGAINST using them. I used them for the first edition of Chaos & Alchemy, and while the quality of the product was good, the customer service was misery-inducing.
Eric W. replied:
I met Brian Petkash at GAMA last week and was very impressed with both him and the DriveThruCards samples. Their cost for small print runs was about half of what I was looking at from other printers, and for an extra $1 per deck they pack them in a clear, hardshell plastic boxes.
Does anyone have recommendations on places to get smaller/early runs of cards printed? Ive heard of the gamecreafter, but just looking for options to get early demo copies of my game made.
Brandon B. replied:
Have you looked at DriveThruCards.com? There is no setup fee or up-front cost, and you can buy your own cards for the cost to print them.
Other than The Game Crafter, does anyone know of any other print on demand companies in the USA? This would be for a game with Dice, Cards and Chits and a rule book.
James M. replied:
I wish people would be more clear and specific when they ask questions. POD of what? RPG Game book? Cards only? Actual board game with dice/bits & game board? What? Superior POD has a very bad rep. Print & Play is more of a 1-off type of production company (just a guy working from home). TGC is a larger company with large printers and many workers and good reputation. DriveThruCards.com does cards only but have good cards.
Anyone know of a good/cheap loseless PDF hosting service? I have a couple PDFs of a PnP and everything I've looked at reduces the quality from 300dpi.
James M. replied:
If it's a game you might eventually sell you can sign up at http://www.WarGameVault.com and they'll list the item even if it's free. I also find that 150 dpi is all you ever need unless you're going to offset or POD printing. You might also check http://www.DriveThruCards.com (same company but does POD for cards).
My printer is overcharging the poop out of my butt!
I'm printing custom game cards on standard poker-sized cards. Anyone know a printer that can get me a unit price of $15 for batches under 10? Preferably on 300gsm stock or better. Deck size is 234. No packaging needed.
Thanks!
Ryan P. replied:
If you're looking for really nice quality, I'd go with drivethrucards.com. For what you're looking for, it'll be about 8.5 cents a card bringing your total to around $19.89 a deck.
Ryan P. replied:
Ian, I really like MPC, but the problem with MPC is that he has a deck size of 234 cards. That makes his total for 300 gsm 1-5 decks $52 a deck, or 6-29 decks $45.50 a deck which is way higher then $19.89 going through Drivethrucards. And $19.89 is closer to what Marcus wanted to pay, $15.
