Hi. I'm 39, single mother of 2 children and I have just been diagnosed with RSD 5 days ago after an ankle injury (4 weeks ago) which damaged my peroneal nerve (and some ligaments). I don't meet my specialist for another week.
I really don't have any idea what I should be doing or not doing at this point as I understand this is a critical stage? I have heard to not use ice....good to know cause I had still been icing almost daily because I thought the swelling was still bad from the original injury. I have heard to try to elevate as much as possible.
It seems like I've been increasing in the duration of my pain, daily and up to about 3-4 hours a day. The pain is mostly in the evening which I have been taking a vicodin for. I am having sharp pains in my foot, achy feeling in my calf and shin. The past few days I am noticing both my wrists are hurting a little. Twice in the past week I have had these borderline fainting spells where I thought I was going to pass out (dizzy, lightheaded, very weak). Any suggestions would be great. I am also looking for recommendations for a specialist in Orange County, CA. Thank you!
