  Buy from a native plant nursery in your region. If you go to [Wildflower.org](https://Wildflower.org) \> Native Plants > Plant lists then select CO. On the right sidebar, select your growing conditions and type of plant you want, shrub, tree, wildflower or grass. Often there will be a suggestion for where to find the plant for sale. I don't know how often this is updated.

  Look up Prairie Moon Nursery in MN. They have lists of plants and you can select your zone. Another specific resource is [Wildflower.org](https://Wildflower.org). Under Native Plants, go to Plant Lists. From there you can choose your state (or province), soil type, amount of sunlight etc. It's great to have spring, summer and fall-blooming native plants. In my yard, I get the most pollinators on mountain mint, (oregano flowers also get a lot of visits), sunflowers and in the fall it is the goldenrods and asters.

Am looking for a guide to use for Texas that is fairly simple to use but still scientific. I live in Corpus Christi but travel around the state birdwatching so would like something fairly diverse and easy to carry. Also have an iPhone so if anyone knows of any apps that would be fine too.   wildflower.org plant data base is terrific. You have to know the plant before you can look it up unless you're close and can compare the different species they show and find your particular one. Great web site overall and look at the pics of seed as well.
