Can anyone please recommend any lawyers to help me evict my tenant? What's the rate and how long would it take for the court to send a marshall? My tenant is a mom with 3 kids. The kids are all adults but they are not working so they are not helping her paying the rent at all. She works in a hospital but always struggles financially. It has been actually 3 years since they moved in. She always paid rent late, then last year, she had to use the security deposits to pay rent, now she is 2-month behind rent without any security deposits. I tried to be understanding due to my stupid sympathy so last year, I lowered her monthly rent and also waived her back rent (About $2,000) in exchange for her promise to pay rent on time from now on but unfortunately, her promise doesn't mean anything and she is behind on rent again. I think enough is enough. A couple of days ago, I posted "Demand for Rent" notice on the wall and also texted her the notice. But it's her son who replied that she is in the hospital and should be released next week. I will talk to her one last time next week when I see her but if she doesn't have much savings, what's the point to wait? I think I need someone who can help me get out of this situation. I don't know if a lawyer is necessary to evict a tenant. If a lawyer or anyone else who can help me out of this, please recommend. Thank you so much.
