#SIAadvice
Hi I understand that this is quite personal to some people so if you would like to reply anonymously please message spotted. Bit of a long one, please be gentle.
I'm a 30 year old mother of three and a wife, my husband works very hard and volunteers. For the last few years my health has rapidly declined. I have arthritis in my spine, bulging herniated disks, severe hypermobility syndrome possibly e.d.s, sciatica, fibromyalgia, mental health problems and problems with my liver (not alcohol related). My physical health is terrible one condition sets off the other physio won't touch me because of the hypermobility and says I'm pretty much untreatable because of the combinations of things I have. I cannot afford acupuncture although not sure my fibromyalgia would like it. Because I have liver issues I am unable to take pain medication which as you can imagine means I'm in a constant state of agony and very tired I'm trying to lead as normal a life as possible for my three young children but have decided begrudgingly that I need more physical help. I'm struggling so much now. I need to get a wheelchair or scooter I have rented one that you wheel yourself and the next day I felt like I had been hit by a bus so I need to get an electric one that can fit in a car. After looking on line and being disgusted at how exploited disability equipment is (around £800+) I am wondering if anyone has any advice on outside agencies or charities that help people in my "situation" either with second hand equipment or help towards the cost. I have been surfing the Web and wouldn't have any clue where to start so any advice would be greatly appreciated, well done if you made it this far sorry for the long post and thanks in advance
